Daniel Shook has recently accepted the sworn position of Fire Marshal with the City of Bay City. Shook and his wife, Donna, reside in Bay City. They have 5 children and 6 grandchildren. Originally from NE Ohio, Shook has been with the Bay City Police Dept. 4 1/2 of his 17 yrs. in law enforcement. Shook comes to this position with 33yrs of Public Safety, all of which have been Fire related working in both the private and public sectors. Shook is experienced in Arson investigation, Fire Inspection, Fire safety, fire suppression and rescue, Emergency planning and management, and fire education. Shook will continue to work as a Patrol Officer with the City to maintain his TCOLE license as required. He is a member of the special response team and an adjunct instructor for the Wharton County Junior College Police Academy and a licensed paramedic with Matagorda County EMS. Shook looks forward to partnering with the City Manager, Mayor, Council, Code Enforcement and Chief Lister in making Bay City a safe community for its’ residents, business owners and all who visit.
