2022 Water Meter Replacement Notice

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve services to our customers, the City of Bay City will be installing new smart water meters over the next year. 
ℹ️ Replacements begin this week and start on the South side of town moving North. 
ℹ️ Meters take one hour at minimum to be replaced, depending on the situation. 
ℹ️ This will not disturb your water usage or billing.

2022 Water Meter Replacement Notice

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve services to our customers, the City of Bay City will be installing new smart water meters over the next year. The mass meter change out will be contracted out to Accurate Meter. After the water meters are replaced, customers will then be able to view their water usage data including easy to understand graphs and the ability to establish alerts – including identifying potential leaks. 

The City of Bay City’s available tools will include a secure online website to review and analyze water usage patterns. A consumer Smartphone app will also be made available. With these tools, you will now be able to view your water usage activity, as well as gain an understanding and control of the amount of water you use. Information about how to access your account will be made available once the water meter installations have been completed. 

Over the next year, installation will be underway. This could include yard disturbing activities as well as meter relocation, if necessary. There will be further communication provided via newspaper, website, and utility bills. If you have any questions, please visit the City’s website @ www.cityofbaycity.org or call 979-245-2322.
