Due to the City of Bay City practicing social distancing, City Hall Council Chambers will not be open to the public. Citizens may call 979-323-1125 to listen and participate during the live meeting (i.e. public comments and to speak on agenda items). All branches of the Bay City Public Library remain closed to the public at this time.
Curbside Pickup will resume beginning Monday, April 27, 2020 following the "Retail to go" executive order by Governor Abbott. Drive-through print/fax/copy is available at the Bay City location only. Both services are available in Bay City on Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Curbside is available at our Sargent location on Thursdays, 9 am to 11 am outside the new library location beginning the week of May 4, 2020.

As a result of recent of COVID-19 concerns, Bay City Municipal Court is rescheduling all defendants set for Pre-Trial and Show Cause hearings from March 17th, 2020 through May 3rd, 2020 with possible further cancellations/reschedules to come, pending further instruction from the State of Texas regarding public gatherings surrounding COVID-19.
Our hours of operation are as follows: Monday through Friday 8 am until noon a clerk(s) will be available to assist you by phone or email as our offices will remain closed to the public at this time. We will be available from noon until 5 pm for operations limited to email requests, case information requests and correspondence via phone or email.

For the health and safety of our citizens, please consider utilizing the following options to address your case/citation:
- Driving Safety Course: Sign up by calling 979-323-1713 during the hours of 8 am until noon Monday through Friday or 979-323-1647 from noon until 5 pm. You can also email a Driving Safety Course request. Please be advised that you are required to meet certain criteria to be eligible for this option.
- Payment of fine and costs can be made in full over the phone by calling 979-323-1713 Monday through Friday from 8 am until noon or by paying online.
- Payment Plan: Make a payment plan by calling 979-323-1713 during the hours of 8 am until noon Monday through Friday or 979-323-1647 from noon until 5 pm. You can also email to request a payment plan.
- Requesting a Pre-Trial: Request a pre-trail by calling 979-323-1713 during the hours of 8 am until noon Monday through Friday or 979-323-1647 from noon until 5 pm. You can also email to make a Pre-Trial hearing request.
- For any other options not mentioned, please call 979-323-1713 during the hours of 8 am until noon Monday through Friday or 979-323-1647 from noon until 5 pm.

Center for Disease Control (CDC) Guidelines
Park and trail users are encouraged to follow CDC guidance and practice physical distancing by remaining a minimum of six feet away from anyone you pass on the trails and avoid areas where people may gather.
Rentals & Reservations
All public and private rentals at pavilions, sport fields, the depot and USO are canceled until further notice. Events may be canceled for a full refund or rescheduled at the request of the renter. We are not accepting any new reservations for private or public events taking place during this time period.

Curfew
Effective March 24, 2020, Bay City Mayor Robert Nelson has enacted a curfew order for anyone under the age of 18 years of age (inside the city limits). The curfew applies between the hours of 10 pm and 6 am each day until the curfew is lifted. This curfew was made county-wide by Matagorda County Judge Nate McDonald on March 30, 2020.

If you are needing to make a report, please contact 979-245-8500. We will not accept any civilians to enter the Police Department unless of an emergency.

After Hours
To report emergencies after normal working hours or on weekends and Holidays, call 979-245-7146 to reach the after hours dispatching service which will contact the appropriate Public Works "on call" personnel. When reporting an emergency, please provide your name, address, telephone number and a brief explanation of the nature of the emergency.
The Recycling Center’s drive-through drop off services have been suspended. Citizens may walk up to the drop off zone to place accepted recyclable materials into the appropriate receptacles.
