Information on Go Wild Programs at Riverside Park

Go Wild! with the Riverside Rangers

Riverside Park and the Bay City Parks and Recreation Department want you to GO WILD! @ Riverside Park with the Riverside Park Rangers.   A wide variety of fee-based outdoor programs and activities will be offered throughout the year to the public.  Popular programs include Owl Prowl; Early Birds; nature crafts; movies and so many more!  Programs do have modest fees to recover the costs of supplies and materials.

“We want our guests to get out and explore Riverside Park,” said Shawn Blackburn, Parks and Recreation Director.   “All our programs are designed to help people get out more and learn about the great outdoors in their own backyard.  We want guests to learn about and enjoy the natural world and to be excited about all the nature that’s right here in Bay City.”

Upcoming programs in October and November are:

Owl Prowl - Saturday, October 8th at 6:45 p.m. cost $5/person; Knock, Knock?  Whoooo's there?  Owls!  Join us as we explore the Great Outdoors and search for Owls.  Practice Owl calls, dissect owl pellets and explore the park after dark!

Pumpkinfest - Saturday, October 22nd at 10 a.m. cost $5/person;  Come out and decorate a pumpkin for the Holiday Season.   Fee includes pumpkin and all supplies.

Early Birds- Saturday, November 12th at 10 a.m. cost $5/person; Are you an aspiring birder who wants to learn more about birds? Join us as we go on a bird outing searching for our feathered friends.  Kid-friendly binoculars will be provided but feel free to bring your own!   We will meet for coffee and conversation before the outing. Bring your own reusable mug or use the cups we provide.

We will meet Tejas Pavilion for all programs and activities.
