Equipment & Vehicles

Equipment and vehicles are funded by the City of Bay City, private donations, Matagorda County, and Bay City Volunteer Fire Department. Vehicles currently in operation include:

• 1964 International Pumper: The City of Bay City purchased this truck. responds as a back-up pumper on major fires within the city limits.
• 1976 American LaFrance Pumper: The City of Bay City purchased this truck. It also responds to structure/dwelling fires within the city limits.
• 1977 Ford Tractor-Trailer: Matagorda County purchased this truck. It carries 9,000 gallons of water and responds inside and outside the city limits.
• 1991 Spartan Pumper: The City of Bay City purchased this truck. It responds to structure/dwelling fires within the city limits.
• 1994 GMC Emergency Support Vehicle: This truck was purchased by the City of Bay City, Matagorda County, and Bay City Volunteer Fire Department. This truck carries all rescue equipment including the Hurst Jaws of Life tools, high pressure air bags, air chisels, self-contained breathing apparatus, and much more. This truck is also equipped with a 6,000-watt light tower to aid during nighttime operations.
• 1997 Ford F-350 4-Wheel Drive Grass Truck: It was purchased by donations from citizens and the Bay City Volunteer Fire Department
• 1997 Smeal Freightliner Pumper: Matagorda County purchased this truck. It is the first truck to respond to all calls inside and outside the city limits.
