Welcome to the City of Bay City, Texas. Our enchanting city is located right on the Texas Gulf Coast along the Colorado River. Bay City is ripe with a history that spans over 100 years and is evident even today with our Historic Downtown District, the Matagorda County Museum, and charming historic homes. Our community boasts some of the greatest outdoor recreation opportunities, restaurants, and people you’ll ever meet.
Mayor Mark Bricker was born and raised here in Bay City where he graduated from Bay City High School in 2002. He went on to attend Texas State University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. Following graduation, Mayor Bricker moved back to his hometown of Bay City to help with the family business when he felt called to public service, therefore, deciding to run for Mayor of Bay City and was elected in May of 2010, again in May of 2013 and once more in June of 2016.
Since his time in office, the City of Bay City has seen tremendous growth with the addition of TenarisBayCity, Dunn Heat Exchangers, several restaurants, hotels, and Oak Manor which is the first multifamily unit built in over a decade. Throughout Mayor Bricker's time in office, he has pursued developing and enhancing the long-term prosperity, sustainability, and health of the community.
